After discovering Etsy.com in July, I've spent countless hours browsing the website for unique (and trendy) homemade items. On a whim, I began to search for clutches and came across the work of Karen Hom. Hom, owner of hyperart, designs clutches, wallets, pencil cases, notebooks, stationary, patterns, and bookmarks. Her clutches are made of cotton, silk, or silk-cotton blends. Hom typically creates one clutch with each fabric. The fabrics contain unique patterns and designs that can be easily incorporated into anyone’s wardrobe.
I’ve recently purchased two of Hom’s Quickie clutches. Both are about 9’’ wide x 6.5’’ tall, which is rather large for a clutch. The first clutch I purchased was made of a black and gold cotton fabric featuring a floral Japanese print, adorned with a matching button. Costing a mere $26, this extremely well-made clutch truly was a steal. The second clutch that I purchased was custom made for me by Hom. As previously mentioned, Hom typically makes one clutch with each fabric; however, she may have extra fabric so it is worth sending her an e-mail inquiring if the clutch can be made again. The clutch I purchased was made of a purple silk fabric and a floral silk-cotton blend. The floral pattern features flowers in orange, purple, and ivory, all accented with gold. The clutch is adorned with a matching sheer bow (that can be unpinned and repositioned). This clutch was also a great steal, costing me a total of $30. Stylish clutches at affordable prices, now you can’t beat that!
If you are interested in purchasing one of Hom’s Quickie clutches, or any other of her creations, visit her shop at hyperart.etsy.com. You can also reach Hom at karen@hyperartpro.com.
